Doris Ducote

Doris Morin Ducote, a resident of Akers, LA, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond at the age of 86. She was born on June 24, 1936, in Sorrento, LA.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Ducote; children, Kevin Melancon and wife Kim, Sue Melancon, Raven Harelson and husband Jody, Camelia Melancon, Gail Millet and husband, Larry, Mary Melancon, and Randy Ducote and wife Nikki; 28 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Octave and Corrine Landy Morin; 2 sons, Jeff and Duane Melancon.

Pallbearers will be Devin and Derek Acaldo, Chase, Jerred, Quintin, Brock, and Judd Melancon, Juston Millet, and Randy Ducote. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Melancon and Alexander Millet.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, from 9:45 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in the church. Burial will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery in Gonzales.
