Alvin Joseph Daigle, also known as “Hook,” passed away peacefully in his home on July 2, 2021 at the age of 76.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gilbert Joseph and Erma Laura Edmonston Daigle, as well as his sister-in-law Evelyn Faye Settoon Daigle.
He is survived by his brothers Douglas and Lloyd Daigle (Leslie), his godchild Gary Wayne Daigle (Celeste), his nephews Adam Daigle (Shelly), Damian Daigle (Gabrielle) and his niece Alison Daigle. Alvin was a resident of Gonzales Healthcare Center for the last 7 years of his life and was a 57-year member of the Local 198 Pipefitters Union.
In his youth, Alvin enjoyed driving fast cars, drag racing and shooting pool with friends. As he aged, he spent time playing bingo with his Gonzales Healthcare family, and he loved the infamous Settoon Wednesday Night “Red Beans & Rice” with Fried Chicken and homemade cookies.
The family would like to thank the Gonzales Health Care family and staff, as well as Traditions Health & Hospice.
In addition, Alvin was a 30 plus year friend of Bill W.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday July 7, 2021 from 8am to 10:30am at Ascension Funeral Home in Gonzales. Mass of Christian burial to follow at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hwy. 73 at 11am. There will be a graveside service to follow at Prairieville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nieces and nephews.
