Alvin A. Venable, age 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 4, 2018. A resident of Baton Rouge and native of Greensburg, LA. He was a retired barber and retired from United Parcel Service (UPS). He was very faithful working the Bible-thons and Share-a-thons at Family Worship Center. Visiting at Family Worship Center, 8919 World Ministry Ave., Baton Rouge, LA on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until service at 11:00 a.m. The family will regather at Day's United Methodist Church, 6349 Hwy. 10, Greensburg, LA, at 2:00 p.m. for a viewing and short service to follow. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Wilma H. Venable; two sons, Randy Venable and Keith Venable; and brother, Harold Ray Smith and wife, Linda. Preceded in death by his parents, Alvin A. and Irene Kennedy Venable; stepfather, Harvey Smith; and two sisters, Louise Venable Alford and Geraldine Venable Brown.
