Caldwell “Butch” Young Jr., age 79, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. A resident of Gonzales, LA and native of New Orleans, LA. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was retired from Hebert Steel and Ironworkers Local 623. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visiting on Friday, at The Rock Church, 42080 Church Point Rd., Gonzales, LA from 9:00 a.m. until service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Pastor Blake Melancon. Burial at Hope Haven Garden of Memory, Gonzales, LA. Survived by his wife of 56 years of marriage, Loretta B. Young; two daughters, Melissa Blackwell and Melynda Trosclair and husband, Todd; son, Caldwell J. “CJ” Young III and wife, Colleen; a special niece, Patricia Buzzinotti; five grandchildren, Mark Blackwell, Jacob Blackwell and wife, Victoria, Benjamin Trosclair, Jessica Braud, Brittany Mumphrey and husband, Justen; three great grandchildren, Savanna, Bailey, and Oliver Blackwell; his little buddy, Mr. T.; and sister, Carole Bryan.
