A retired pipe fitter and Ascension Parish school bus drier, he died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at his home in Prairieville. He was a native of Oakdale. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, on Tuesday, July 10, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 11, from 9 a.m. until chapel service at 11 a.m., conducted by Brother Mark Swinnea. Entombment in Hope Haven Garden of Memories, Gonzales. Survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Dianne Martinez Chamberlain three daughters, Tammy Chamberlain Daigle, Ritalyn Chamberlain Burns and husband Michael, and Gwen Braud and husband Troy two sons, Charles Chamberlain Jr. and wife Nicole, and Brent Braud and wife Kim three sisters, Vera, Shirley and Janice five brothers, Virgil Jr., Jerry, Danny, Gary and Ronnie seven grandchildren, Brennan, Dylan, Kimberly, Dean, Jenna, Justin and greatgrandchild, Trevor. Preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Sr. and Nellie Willis Chamberlain. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and play his guitar. Condolences may be offered at ascensionfuneral.com.
