Charles Robert Hill, 73, a resident of Prairieville, died peacefully at the Carpenter House on March 29, 2012. He was born in Baton Rouge on May 11, 1938, to Agnes Harrell Hill and Henry Joseph Hill. After his discharge from the United States Army, he worked as a State Trooper. He later purchased and managed two restaurants in Baton Rouge. Subsequently, he went to work for the State as a Police Officer at the Capitol Buildings and Grounds Department, and worked there until retirement. He is survived by his Son Charles Chuck Alford Hill and wife Nancy and their two children, Breanne and Austin Hill his sister Betty Sue Hill Woods and husband Scott and their children Steven Woods and Kelly Woods Backes and Bonnie Hill, former wife and good friend. He is preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Robert Woods. There will be a graveside service at Port Hudson National Cemetery on April 3, 2012 at 12:30 pm, with burial to follow.
