BABIN, ELDEN H. BILL

A resident of St. Amant, he died on Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Promise of Ascension Hospital in Gonzales. He was 86 and had retired from Exxon. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Gonzales on Sunday, September 7, 2008 from 5pm until 9pm. Visitation on Monday will be at Holy Rosary Catholic in St. Amant, beginning at 9am. Fth, Boby Alexs will celebrate a Mass of Christian burial at 10am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survived by his wife of 44 years, Hazel DeBate Marchand Babin, two children; Paul J. P.J. Marchand of Greensburg, LA, Rosemary Wheat of St. Amant, a sister, Nell Samaha Coltharp, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters and brothers.
