Ella Mae Denoux Poirrier

Ella Mae Denoux Poirrier, was born May 25, 1933 and died peacefully at her beloved home surrounded by her family on August 12, 2018. She was 85. She was a native of Smoke Bend, Louisiana and lifelong resident of Donaldsonville, Louisiana. Mrs. Poirrier is survived by her four children, Carlin Poirrier Mury (Rodney), Leo Camille Poirrier, Jr. (Wendy), Gayle Poirrier, and Achille Joseph Poirrier (Lisa). Her family also includes four granddaughters, Alison Poirrier Lemann (Matthew), Ashley Poirrier LeBoeuf (Troy), Alyssa Lynn Poirrier (Chip), and Alaina Leigh Poirrier and seven great grandchildren, Ella, Elise and Emerson Lemann and Jackson, Camille, Harrison and Genevieve LeBoeuf. Mrs. Poirrier is also survived by two brothers, Achille "Smokie" Denoux, and Lannie J. Denoux, Sr. (Bernice) and three sisters, Maxine Denoux Bourgoyne (Cyril), Virginia "Jenny" Denoux and Mary Denoux Spano; and her sister-in-law, Carleene Denoux Lane. Mrs. Poirrier was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Leo Camille Poirrier, Sr.; parents, Ella Lanoix and Achille Joseph Denoux; and two brothers, Merlin Joseph Denoux and Henry Arthur Denoux. Visitation will take place at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, 716 Mississippi Street, Donaldsonville, Louisiana on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 12 noon with an interment in the church mausoleum to follow. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers and all of the family and friends who took such good care of Mrs. Poirrier and her family throughout her journey.
