Garfield Arceneaux

A resident of Gonzales, he died early Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at his home. He was 85 and proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He retired from DSM Copolymer Inc. with more than 31 years of service. Visitation at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, on Monday, Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. until religious service at noon in the chapel, conducted by Dave Smith, pastor. Burial will follow in Hope Haven Cemetery in Gonzales. Survived by his wife of more than 66 years, Irene M. Arceneaux; two sons and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Sheri Arceneaux, and Randy David Arceneaux; three sisters, Verna Mae Ducote, Irma Keller and Theresa Gautreaux; three grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his parents, Garfield and Mirza Arceneaux; infant sister, Loretta; and infant brother, Joseph.
