Born June 12, 1934, he was 78, a native of Livingston and resident of Prairieville. He died at 12:10 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2012, at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and retired from Pipefitters Local 198. Survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Jean Termini Guitreau sons, Gerald, Jr. and wife Mona, and Frank Joseph Joey Sr. and wife Victoria Derek daughter, Antoinette Toni and companion Joe Dale Samples sister, Marie Guitreau McMorris 14 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Hypolite and Clementine Picou Guitreau 10 brothers and 4 sisters. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Wednesday, July 11, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m., and Thursday, July 12, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial in Hope Haven Cemetery, Hwy. 30, Gonzales. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
