Gwendolyn Maria (Pino) Davis passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Clarity Hospice Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
She was born Gwendolyn Maria Acuna on May 1, 1944, in New Orleans to Albano Mario Acuna and Lillian Lee Acuna.
As life happens, Gwen was adopted by Edgar Vincent Pino, who married her mother when they moved to Baton Rouge.
Gwen was a graduate of Istrouma High School. During her school years, she was beauty queen—first Miss Prescott and then Miss Istrouma.
Gwen later married Max Davis and they spent most of the remainder of their lives on the river in Maurepas.
She worked for Covan Moving Company, Atlas Moving, and Coleman American Moving, and retired from the Louisiana State Parole Board.
Gwen, along with Max, were faithful members of Family Worship Center church.
Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Albano Mario Acuna, Lillian Pino, and Edgar Vincent Pino; sister, Regina Acuna; brothers, Mark Acuna and Allen Pino; daughter, Rebecca Corcoran; grandmother, Francis Brown; granddaughter, Lyndsey Langlois, and her beloved, precious husband, Max Davis.
Gwen is survived by her sons, Mario Dwayne Corcoran (Regina) and Roger Lynn Corcoran (Windy); daughter, Tina Sheri Corcoran-Barrow (Jason); sister, Carmen Perry (Gary); fifteen grandchildren: Taylor, Cassidy, Brookelyn, Lynsey, Morgan, Harleigh, Ashlea, Blair, Nolan, Damian, Jade, Nicholas, Carly, Elizabeth, and Joshua; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
