ROUSSEL NEWMAN

A native of Paulina, she died early Monday, July 14, 2008, at her home in Baton Rouge. She was 86. Visiting at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 16, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Michael J. Collins, celebrant. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina. Survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael A. and Melody Schexnaydre; three sisters, Nancy Stein, Jeanette Dornier and Ruth Minvelle; brother, Octave Roussel Jr.; five grandchildren, Andrew and wife Tracy Schexnaydre, Rock and wife Leigh Schexnaydre, Travis and wife Janel Schexnaydre, Jason Miller and Melissa Miller; six great-grandchildren, Alex, Ava, Rock, Jake, Tyler and Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Octave and Ella Roussel; husbands, Louis Rock Schexnaydre and Chevis Newman; three sisters, Emily Thoms, Ethel Martin and Idola Hoover; and brother, Melvin Roussel.
