Henry Joseph Villar died on September 21, 2008 at his home in Hammond, Louisiana. He was 76. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and then retired from Kaiser Aluminum. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Gonzales, on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 from 5pm until 9pm and again on Thursday, beginning at 9am. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Wayne Mack in the funeral home chapel at 11am. Burial will follow in the Lake Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Newman Villar; daughters, Hope Weatherford and Lynette Rodriguez , six sisters and five brothers-in-law, Shirley Jones, Betty and Bernard Gautreau, Leona and Gerald Vicknair, Joann and Jerry Loupe, Margaret and Bernard Gautreau and Cherryl and Thomas Schexnaydre; five grandchildren; Colby Villar, Micah Pene, Trevor Pene and Amanda and Kaitlyn Ward, ten nieces and nine nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Mark Villar; parents, Earl and Daisy Salassi Villar; and sister, Peggy Villar Thompson. Pallbearers will be Colby, Micah, Trevor, Charles, Pat and Tom.
