James Dickerson, age 70, died peacefully at home in Ethel, LA, surrounded by his wife, Barbara Stevens, granddaughter, Kacy, and niece, Pat, on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 11:39 p.m. James was a retired coal miner and mechanic. Visiting on Monday, June 15, 2015, at Second Baptist Church, Jackson, LA, from 12:00 p.m. noon until service at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Basil Wicker. Burial at the church cemetery. Survived by his wife, Barbara Stevens; stepson, Gary Magee and wife, Dorothy; brother, Bobby Dickerson and wife, Samantha; six grandchildren, Kacy Applegate, Gary Wayne Magee, Jennifer Magee, Jackie Swinney, Lonnie Payne, and Donnie Payne; thirteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Ira James and Emma James Dickerson; stepdaughter, Theresa Ann Magee; stepson, Bobby Ray Magee; and an infant stepdaughter, Sharon Kay Woodard.
