Jessie Guedry

Jessie Bankston Guedry, a native of Loranger, LA, and longtime resident of Gonzales, LA, passed away on July 26, 2022, at the age of 91.  She was born on April 20, 1931.

She is survived by grandchildren, Melissa James Barthelemy and husband Shane, Jodi Guedry David and husband Michael, Jessie James Jr., and wife Desiree; great-grandchildren, Abby Wroten, Brock, and Baylor Barthelemy, Lane and Claire Richard, Dante’ Davis, Morgan, Ashley, and Brett Guedry, Brystal and Britton James; great-great-grandchildren, Memphis Fayard, Bentley Bolding, Mya Guedry, and expecting great-great-grandchild, Leilani Haygood; and sister Phyllis Bankston Stevens.

Preceded in death by her parents Roy and Edna Bankston; spouse, Herman Guedry; children, Janet Guedry James, Timothy Guedry, Michael Guedry Sr.; and grandson, Michael Guedry Jr.

She was a member of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on August 6, 2022, at Ascension Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00 p.m. with the service beginning at 1:30 p.m.  Interment will follow at Cornerview Cemetery in Gonzales, LA.  A special thank you to the Jefferson Manor Nursing Home staff.

Brock Barthelemy, Baylor Barthelemy, Brett Guedry, Jessies James Jr., Jessie James Sr., and Lane Richard will serve as pallbearers.
