Luke B. Ducote passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the age of 80. He was born January 31, 1943, in Plaucheville, Louisiana to Milburn and Nay-Dee Ducote. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1964.
One of Luke’s passions in life was photography. He was a photographer at the Times Picayune for many years. He was also a teacher of photography at Delgado Community College, where he was able to instill a passion for photography into future generations. Luke also enjoyed hunting and was known as a comedian to his friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Mark L. Ducote, and his siblings, Claudia Ducote Spiess, Lois Ducote Norton and Jonathen Ducote. Luke is survived by his wife of 29 years, Joan (Peaches) Ducote; his daughter, Rachel Ducote Wolen and husband, Jeff Wolen; his sons, Michael A. Palermo, Jr. and Kevin Palermo; his grandchildren, Victoria Wolen, Julianna Wolen, Joshua Wolen, Katie Palermo Lanier, and Anthony Palermo; and his great-grandchildren, Lillian and Diana Lanier. He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judith Sedtal and Gordon (Joey) Sedtal.
