A retired longshoreman and resident of Gonzales, he died at 6:05 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at Ochsner Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He was 80 and a native of Galvez. Visiting at St. Mark Catholic Church, 42021 La. 621, Gonzales, Wednesday, Dec. 22, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Rubin Reynolds, celebrant. Interment in Ficklin Cemetery. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lillian Templet Norwood two daughters, Gaynell Buratt and husband Teddy, and Wanda Norwood sister, Marilyn Michell three grandchildren, Stevie Ebeling and wife Penny, Skye Babin and husband Eric, and Shasta Piper and fianc Tsa Buffert nine greatgrandchildren, Chelsi, Brennin, Jace, Reed, Christopher, Aubree, D.J., Travis and Kacey and greatgranddaughter, Haley. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Eunice Norwood and three brothers, Willie, V.J. Blackie and Thomas Jut.
