Mildred Young

Mildred Robert Young, age 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 7:40 p.m. at Ascension Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A resident and native of Gonzales, LA. She retired as vice president of the Bank of Gonzales. Visiting on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visiting on Thursday, at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1022 N. Burnside Ave., Gonzales, LA from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Eric V. Gyan. Burial in the St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church Cemetery. Survived by her son, Lynn J. Robert and wife, Becky; sister, Myrtle Waguespack; four brothers, Father Henry Gautreau, Louis W. Gautreau, Tommy Gautreau, and Jerry Gautreau; three grandchildren, Sheree McAllister and husband, Jason, Louis Robert and wife, Kayla, and Matthew Robert and wife, Amanda; and five great grandchildren, Davin, Preston, Athen, Bennett, and Beau Robert. Preceded in death by her husbands, Lynn "Noon" Robert Sr. and Donald Young Sr.; parents, Henry W., Sr. and Emma B. Gautreau; sister, Margaret G. Theriot; and godchild, Mark Theriot. She was a member of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Ladies Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and American Legion Post 81 Ladies Auxiliary. Please visit the online guestbook.
