Moody "MH" Dixon, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at 8:40 p.m. at the Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice, Baton Rouge, LA. A native and resident of Galvez, LA, he retired from Carpenters Local Union # 1098. He served in the U. S. Navy Seabees during WWII. Visiting on Friday, March 17, 2017, at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA from 12:00 noon until service at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Charles Marceaux. Burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Survived by his two daughters, Cynthia D. Simpson and husband, Mervin and Joan D. Kelley and husband, Adrian; son, Bill Dixon and wife, Mary Lee; three sisters, Janice D. David, Bobbie Jean D. Wood, and Shirley D. Braud; six grandchildren, Michelle S. Savario, Duane Simpson, Shannon Simpson, Scoot Kelley, Julie Kelley, and Cori D. O'Brien; and five great grandchildren, George and Courtney Savario, Abby and Chase Kelley, and Bella McGucken. Preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Lorraine Dixon; parents, Moody U. and Julia C. Dixon; sisters, Doris Braud, Joyce Martin, Connie McConnel, Elaine Nettles, Beverly Rossi, Ethleen Dixon, and Eva Mae Dixon; and brothers, Dalton, Jerry, and Grandville Dixon.
