Loving mother, grandmother and great-grand mother, she was a resident of Gonzales and native of Dutchtown, she died early Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the age of 92. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Gonzales on Friday, February 15, 2008 from 5pm until 9pm. Visitation on Saturday, February 16 will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, from 9am until 11am. Rev. Eric Gyan will celebrate the mass of Christian burial at 11am. Interment will follow in Prairieville Community Cemetery. She is survived by six daughters and sons-in-law; Agnes and husband Perry Berteau, Lynda and husband James Lambert, Janice Terrell, Monica and husband Dennis Lanclos, Vallerie Lobell and Andrea and Steve LaCarbo, eight sons and daughters-in-law: Merle and Lorraine Gautreaux, Richard and Bonnie Gautreaux, Tussy Gautreaux, Mackie Gautreaux, Francis and Cindy Gautreaux, Steve and Brenda Gautreaux, Bradley Gautreaux and Mark and Tammy Gautreaux, forty-nine grandchildren , thirty two great-grandchildren, fourteen great great-grandchildren, a sister; Audrey Duplessis and brother; Pervis Hebert. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Yep Gautreaux, parents: Lucien and Eugenie Hebert two daughters; Claire Anne Gautreaux and Juanita Poppy Fink, son, Eugene Gautreaux, two granddaughters; Kimberly Gautreaux and Jude Lobell, two grandsons; Jesse Lobell and Jason Gautreaux and two brothers; Adam Hebert and Armand Hebert and two daughters-in-law; Marie Gautreaux and Charlotte Gautreaux.
Sons will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice and Dr. Jacques Sanders for their care and support.
