Myrtle Schwarz Amato, a resident of St. Gabriel, passed away Monday, September 5, 2011 at the age of 94. She is survived by her loving husband, Anthony Joseph Amato daughters, Helen A. Otto, daughter of the late Valentine and Charles Schwarz, and Patricia M. Brown and a son, the late Walter Morris grandchildren, Clay Morris, Donna Tennyson, Dale Morris, Dawn Lewis, Sean Breen, Christopher Breen, Jennifer Rawl, Victoria Otto, Kevin Otto, Michelle McKeon and Amy McKeon 20 greatgrandchildren and three greatgreatgrandchildren a sister, Coral Udelhoven and the late Laura Cortez and Esther Triche. She is also survived by sisterinlaws, Mary Ann Dolly and Grace Huffman, Mary Amato and the late Francis Amato and longtime friend, Ruth Gauthier. She was a longtime member of the Catholic Daughters of St. Jude Church and Alter Society of St. Gabriel Church. Special thanks to Jamie Lowery, Janie Hawkins, Tolisha Wallace, and all caregivers at Hospice Compassus. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Missionary Sisters of Charity, 737 East Blvd., Baton Rouge, La 70802, or the charity of your choice. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 9 am until Mass of Christian burial at 11 am at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 3625 Hwy. 75, St. Gabriel, La 70776.
