Ron Abidin, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at 8:20 p.m. at his home. A native of Queens, NY and resident of Baton Rouge, LA. He retired as a hotshot driver for Accurate Delivery and a poker room manager. He loved playing poker and worked as a poker room manager at different casinos in Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Visiting on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Phil Spano. Survived by his wife, Tammy Abidin; mother, Romola Durana; two sons, Brandon Abidin and his wife, Jennifer and Mario Vazquez; sister, Nora Abidin; two brothers, Randy Abidin and Robert "Bob" Abidin; grandchild, Asher Abidin; and two step grandchildren, Landon and Kendall O'Connor. Preceded in death by two sons, Derek Abidin and Roy Vazquez; and maternal grandfather, Louis Viviano. He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
