Vernon Ryland

A retired construction worker, he died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at his residence in St. Amant. He was 80, a native of Effie and an Army veteran of the Korean War. Graveside service at French Cemetery, Effie, Thursday, Sept. 23, at 1 p.m. Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mae Savoy Ryland three daughters, Dianne Dencausse and husband Joseph, Alice Belanger and husband Mike, and Nelda Kelly two sons, Michael Ryland and wife Carmen, and Darrel Ryland and wife Denise three sisters, a brother, 14 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and a brother. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and farming.
