Virgil J. Arceneaux, passed away on December 10, 2022, in Gonzales, at the age of 93. He was born on June 15, 1929.
Mr. Arceneaux was a devoted Catholic and had a deep love for his wife and family. He was a retired welder and pipefitter with the Local 198 in Baton Rouge.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Shirley Smith Arceneaux; son, Barney D. Arceneaux and his wife, Betty; daughter, Bridget Arceneaux Marino and her husband, Ken; grandchildren, Tasha Arceneaux Farrell and her husband, B. J., Shelly Arceneaux Graham and her husband, Russell, and Jade Bardwell Gautreaux and her husband, Vance; great-grandchildren, Jude Graham, McKenzie Graham, Megan Farrell, Braden Farrell, Corbin, and Cambry Gautreaux; and sister, Shirley Moore.
Mr. Arceneaux is preceded in death by his parents, Victor Arceneaux and Lena Bourgeois Arceneaux; brother, Wilton Arceneaux; sisters, Ruth Sheets, Myrtle Louviere, Helen Gautreau, Gladys Arceneaux, and Mildred Bercegeay.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1022 N. Burnside Ave, Gonzales, LA, from 8:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in church.
Entombment will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Gonzales.
Pallbearers will be B. J. Farrell, Russell Graham, Vance Gautreaux, Matt Moore, Trent Sheets, and Jude Graham.
