William Daniel "Billy" Cook, Sr., age 73, passed away peacefully at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 3:16 a.m. A resident and native of Prairieville, LA. He was the owner of Billy Cook Tractor Repair. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visiting at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hwy. 73, Prairieville, LA on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Donald V. Blanchard. Entombment at Hope Haven Garden of Memory, Prairieville, LA. Survived by his wife, Loretta Blanchard Cook; daughter, Ashlee Cook White and husband, Loren Gene; son, William Daniel "Beau" Cook, Jr.; brother, Leroy J. Cook and wife, Judy; sisters-in-law, Sr. Sandra T. Blanchard, CSJ, Ann B. Deshotel and husband, Roland, and Laura B. Blanchard; brothers-in-law, Hayden T. Blanchard, Jr., Rev. Donald V. Blanchard, and John J. McManus; two grandchildren, Alysse M. White and Cheyenne M. Cook; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Mildred St. Amant Cook; sister-in-law, Jeanne B. McManus; brothers, Larry E. Blanchard and Gordon M. Blanchard, Sr. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Bret Cook, Paul Cook, Dennis Cook, Kurt Cook, Art Clement, Mark Clement, Daniel Clement, Keith Blanchard, G. Michael Blanchard, Jr., and son-in-law, Loren G. White. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
